Diagnostic Test - Molecular Biology
Catalog No.: 35012
The GenoType ApoE is based on the DNA strip tehcnology and permits the differentiation between three alleles (e2, e3, e4) of the polymorphic human ApoE gene. They code for the three major isoforms of the ApoE protein that differ in two amono acids. The most frequent isoform ApoE3 - often designated as wildtype - harbours a cysteine residue at postion 112 and an arginine residue at position 158. ApoE2 contains two cysteine residues, and ApoE4 two arginine residues at these positions, respectively.
