IMMUNOGEN: Oxytocin conjugated to bovine thyroglobulin
DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICITY: Oxytocin is synthesized in nerve cell bodies in the supraoptic nucleus and paraventricular nucleus, and carried by axonal transport to the neural stalk and pars nervosa where they are stored. Oxy tocin nerve terminals can also be found throughout the CNS, even reaching th lower spinal cord. Absorption with 10-100 mg immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining.

RECOMMENDED FOR POSITIVE CONTROL: Frozen sections of pig pituitary
APPLICATION: Immunohistochemistry, suitable for frozen sections.
INCUBATION TIME: Overnight at 2-8°C
WORKING DILUTION: 1:20 to 1:40 using FITC conjugates as secondary antibody
DILUTION BUFFER: 0.1 M PBS with 1% BSA and 0.1% Na-Azide
STORAGE: 2-8°C for immediate use, or at -20°C (aliquot)
