Description
This rabbit polyclonal antibody has been generated against the C-terminus of human Stat5â, a transcription factor activated by hormones and cytokines. Two highly related, but distinct Stat5 genes (Stat5á and Stat5â) were identified in mouse. The amino acid sequences of Stat5á and Stat5â show ~96% sequence similarity, and both proteins are co-expressed in most tissues of both virgin and lactating mice. However, differential accumulation of Stat5á and Stat5â mRNA has been reported for both muscle and mammary tissue. Stat5â is critically involved in a variety of physiological functions, including reproduction, lactation, immune function and somatic growth.
Usage
For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This polyclonal antibody has been reported for use in immunoblotting (WB).
Applications Tested
This polyclonal antibody has been tested by immunoblotting (WB) (5-10 ìg/ml). Jurkat cells can be used as a positive control. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
