Formulation: Sterile liquid; phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2, 150 mM NaCl, no carriers or stabilizers. 0.22 µm filtered.
Storage Conditions: For greatest stability, keep concentration of primary stock at or above 10 µg/ml. For long term storage, aliquot into polypropylene vials (volumes of 20 µl or greater) and store at or below -20°C in a non-cycling freezer (e.g., not 'frost free'). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Handling Conditions: For best recovery, always quick-spin vial prior to opening. For dilution of current stock, always include carrier protein (1% BSA or 10% FBS) in the buffered saline diluent.

Description
Human SCF (Stem Cell Factor) is a hematopoietic growth factor. SCF stimulates the proliferation of bone marrow cultures and works synergistically with other growth factors to to generate mature, functional blood cells.
Usage
For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Recombinant human SCF is biologically active and can promote proliferation of the human TF-1 cell line in culture.
Applications Tested
This recombinant human SCF has been tested by bioassay using the human TF-1 cell line. The ED50 measured in a TF-1 proliferation assay is typically 12.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 8.3X104 U/mg.
