Description
The polyclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat TACE; the antibody was raised against residues 807-823 of human ADAM17, also known as TACE (TNF-á Converting Enzyme), and recognizes human, mouse and rat ADAM17. ADAM17/TACE is a member of the ADAM (A Disintegrin And Metalloprotease) family of membrane-anchored glycoproteins comprised of several distinct protein modules, including a pro- and metalloprotease domain, disintegrin domain, cysteine-rich region and an EGF repeat. ADAM17 converts TNF-á from its membrane-bound precursor (26 kDa) to generate the secreted mature form (17 kDa). ADAM17 also processes other molecules such as TNF receptor, TGF-á, and CD62L (L-Selectin). ADAM17 is expressed by a variety of human and mouse tissues.
Usage
For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This polyclonal antibody has been reported for use in immunoblotting (WB).
Applications Tested
This polyclonal antibody can be used for immunoblotting (1:500-1:2000 dilution) of ADAM17 from Jurkat or HeLa cell lysate as positive control. 80-130 kDa bands can be detected representing the precursor, mature and glycosylated forms of ADAM17. It is recommended that the reagent be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
