Isotype: Mouse IgG2a, kappa
Decription:
Actin is a major component of the cytoskeleton and is present in most cell types. It is highly specific to actin from smooth muscles. This monoclonal antibody does not stain cardiac or skeletal muscle; however, it does stain myofibroblasts and myoepithelial cells. This antibody could be used together with anti-muscle specific actin and myogenin in making a diagnosis of smooth muscle and skeletal muscle tumors. In most cases of rhabdomyosarcoma, this antibody yields negative results whereas anti-muscle specific actin and myogenin are positive. Leiomyosarcomas are positive only with anti-muscle specific actin and anti-smooth muscle actin and are negative with anti-myogenin.
Synonyms: ACTA2, Actin Alpha 2 Smooth Muscle Aorta, Actin Aortic Smooth Muscle, Actin Vascular Smooth Muscle, ACTSA, ACTVS, Alpha 2 Actin, Alpha Actin 2, Alpha Cardiac Actin, Alpha Smooth Muscle, Alpha-actin-2, Aortic Smooth Muscle, ASMA, Cell Growth-inhibiting Gene 46 Protein, Growth Inhibiting Gene 46
Clone: ACTA2/791
Isotype: Mouse IgG2a, kappa
Immunogen: Recombinant full-length human ACTA2 protein
Reactivity: human and rat. Predicted to show a broad reactivity.
Form: Purified, in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA & 0.05% azide. Also available WITHOUT BSA & azide at 1.0mg/ml.
Applications: Flow Cytometry (0.5-1ug/million cells in 0.1ml)
Immunofluorescence (0.5-1ug/ml)
Immunohistology (Formalin-fixed) (0.25-0.5ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT)
(Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes)
Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined.
Reactivity: Blood vessels in all tissues, smooth muscle or leiomyosarcoma
Concentration: 0.2mg/ml
Storage: Can be stored at +4C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
