Protein Family: Cytokines, Cell Adhesion Molecules, CAM Ligands
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Cell Motility, Cancers, Cell Growth and Death
Alternate Names: Heparin-Binding growth factor 1, HBGF-1, acidic fibroblast growth factor, aFGF, FGF1, FGFA, Fgf-1Description:
Fibroblast Growth Factor-acidic (HBGF-1) is one of over 20 members of the FGF family. The fibroblast growth factors play a central role in prenatal development and growth and regeneration of cells during the proliferation and differentiation stages. HBGF-1 is a potent angiogenic agent. Recombinant mouse FGF-acidic is a non-glycosylated heparin binding protein comprised of 141 amino acid residues with a MW of 15.9 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
Recombinant Mouse FGF-alpha is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of mouse BALB/c 3T3 cells, is 0.04ng/ml.
Accession No.: P61148
MW: 15900 Da
Sequence:
MFNLPLGNYK KPKLLYCSNG GHFLRILPDG TVDGTRDRSD QHIQLQLSAE SAGEVYIKGT ETGQYLAMDT EGLLYGSQTP NEECLFLERL EENHYNTYTS KKHAEKNWFV GLKKNGSCKR GPRTHYGQKA ILFLPLPVSS D
Purity:
Purity > 98% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 50 ug protein lyophilized in 5 mM sodium phosphate pH7.5, 50 mM NaCl. Reconstitute with 0.5 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Cell Motility, Cancers, Cell Growth and Death
