Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for aryl hydrocarbons and a ligand-activated transcription factor. The encoded protein is found in the cytoplasm as part of a multiprotein complex, but upon binding of ligand is transported to the nucleus. This protein can regulate the expression of many xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes. Also, the encoded protein can bind specifically to and inhibit the activity of hepatitis B virus.
Other Names:
AH receptor-interacting protein, AIP, Aryl-hydrocarbon receptor-interacting protein, HBV X-associated protein 2, XAP-2, Immunophilin homolog ARA9, AIP, XAP2
Target/Specificity:
This AIP antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 293-321 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human AIP.
Antigen Region:
293-321
Antigen Type: Synthetic Peptide
Gene Name: AIP
Gene ID: 9049
Primary Accession: O00170
NCBI Accession: NP_003968.2
Other Accession: Q5FWY5; Q7YRC1; NP_003968.2
Format: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
