Background:
Amylases are secreted proteins that hydrolyze 1,4-alpha-glucoside bonds in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, and thus catalyze the first step in digestion of dietary starch and glycogen. The human genome has a cluster of several amylase genes that are expressed at high levels in either salivary gland or pancreas. This gene encodes an amylase isoenzyme produced by the pancreas.

Other Names:
Pancreatic alpha-amylase, PA,4-alpha-D-glucan glucanohydrolase, AMY2A

Target/Specificity:
This AMY2A antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 484-511 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human AMY2A.

Antigen Region:
484-511

Antigen Type: Synthetic Peptide

Gene Name: AMY2A
Gene ID: 279
Primary Accession: P04746
NCBI Accession: NP_000690.1
Other Accession: P00690; P19961; P04745; NP_000690.1; P0DTE7; P0DTE8; P0DUB6
Format: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
