Protein Family: Transporters
Pathway and Disease: Endocrine System, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Nervous and Sensory Systems
Description:
AP2A2 is a component of the adaptor protein complex 2 (AP-2). Adaptor protein complexes function in protein transport via transport vesicles in different membrane traffic pathways. Adaptor protein complexes are vesicle coat components and appear to be involved in cargo selection and vesicle formation. AP2A2 is involved in clathrin-dependent endocytosis in which cargo proteins are incorporated into vesicles surrrounded by clathrin (clathrin- coated vesicles, CCVs) which are destined for fusion with the early endosome.
Alternate Names: AP-2 complex subunit alpha-2, 100 kDa coated vesicle protein C, Adapter-related protein complex 2 alpha-2 subunit, Adaptor protein complex AP-2 subunit alpha-2, Alpha-adaptin C, Alpha2-adaptin, Clathrin assembly protein complex 2 alpha-C large chain, Huntingtin yeast partner J, Huntingtin-interacting protein 9, HIP-9, Huntingtin-interacting protein J, Plasma membrane adaptor HA2/AP2 adaptin alpha C subunit, AP2A2, AP1
Application Notes: This antibody binds to AP2A1 and AP2A2. E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: O94973
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human AP2A2.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 25% glycerol, 0.1 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
