Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a GTPase-activatingprotein (GAP) which associates with the Golgi apparatus and whichinteracts with ADP-ribosylation factor 1 (ARF1). The encodedprotein promotes hydrolysis of ARF1-bound GTP and is required forthe dissociation of coat proteins from Golgi-derived membranes andvesicles. Dissociation of the coat proteins is required for thefusion of these vesicles with target compartments. The activity ofthis protein is stimulated by phosphoinosides and inhibited byphosphatidylcholine. Two transcript variants encoding differentisoforms have been found for this gene.
Other Names:
ADP-ribosylation factor GTPase-activating protein 1, ARF GAP 1, ADP-ribosylation factor 1 GTPase-activating protein, ARF1 GAP, ARF1-directed GTPase-activating protein, ARFGAP1, ARF1GAP
Gene Name: ARFGAP1
Gene ID: 55738
Primary Accession: Q8N6T3
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
