Protein Family: Cytochrome P450, Enzymes, Hormones
Pathway and Disease: Lipid Metabolism, Endocrine System
Alternate Names: Cytochrome P450 19A1; CYPXIX; Aromatase; Estrogen synthetase; P-450AROM; CYP19A1; ARO1; CYAR; CYP19
Accession No.: P11511
Description:
Aromatase (cytochrome P450 19A1) catalyzes the formation of aromatic C18 estrogens from C19 androgens. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This aromatase localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and catalyzes the last steps of estrogen biosynthesis, three successive hydroxylations of the A ring of androgens.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 ml peptide in deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 2307.6 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 250549 is selected from a sequence within the N-term region of human Aromatase. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C103H163N27O31S1
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
