Background:
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family ofankyrin repeat proteins that, along with four other proteinfamilies, contains a C-terminal SOCS box motif. Growing evidencesuggests that the SOCS box acts as a bridge between specificsubstrate-binding domains and the more generic proteins thatcomprise a large family of E3 ubiquitin protein ligases. In thisway, SOCS box containing proteins may regulate protein turnover bytargeting proteins for polyubiquination and, therefore, forproteasome-mediated degradation. Two alternative transcriptsencoding different isoforms have been described. [provided byRefSeq].
Other Names:
Ankyrin repeat and SOCS box protein 7, ASB-7, ASB7
Gene Name: ASB7
Gene ID: 140460
Primary Accession: Q9H672
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
