Background:
This gene encodes a component of vacuolar ATPase(V-ATPase), a multisubunit enzyme that mediates acidification ofeukaryotic intracellular organelles. V-ATPase dependent organelleacidification is necessary for such intracellular processes asprotein sorting, zymogen activation, receptor-mediated endocytosis, and synaptic vesicle proton gradient generation. V-ATPase iscomposed of a cytosolic V1 domain and a transmembrane V0 domain. The V1 domain consists of three A and three B subunits, two Gsubunits plus the C, D, E, F, and H subunits. The V1 domaincontains the ATP catalytic site. The V0 domain consists of fivedifferent subunits: a, c, c', c'', and d. Additional isoforms ofmany of the V1 and V0 subunit proteins are encoded by multiplegenes or alternatively spliced transcript variants. This encodedprotein is part of the transmembrane V0 domain and is the humancounterpart of yeast VMA16. Two alternatively spliced transcriptvariants that encode different proteins have been found for thisgene.
Other Names:
V-type proton ATPase 21 kDa proteolipid subunit, V-ATPase 21 kDa proteolipid subunit, Vacuolar proton pump 21 kDa proteolipid subunit, hATPL, ATP6V0B, ATP6F
Gene Name: ATP6V0B
Gene ID: 533
Primary Accession: Q99437
Other Accession: NP_001034546.1;NP_004038.1
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
