Background:
BAHD1 is a heterochromatin protein that acts as a transcription repressor and has the ability to promote the formation of large heterochromatic domains. It may act by recruiting heterochromatin proteins such as CBX5 (HP1 alpha), HDAC5 and MBD1. It represses IGF2 expression by binding to its CpG-rich P3 promoter and recruiting heterochromatin proteins.
Other Names:
Bromo adjacent homology domain-containing 1 protein, BAH domain-containing protein 1, BAHD1, KIAA0945
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP9159b was selected from the C-term region of human BAHD1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: BAHD1
Gene ID: 22893
Primary Accession: Q8TBE0
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
