Background:
This gene encodes a branched chain aminotransferase found in mitochondria. The encoded protein forms a dimer that catalyzes the first step in the production of the branched chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Other Names:
Branched-chain-amino-acid aminotransferase, mitochondrial, BCAT(m), Placental protein 18, PP18, BCAT2, BCATM, BCT2, ECA40

Target/Specificity:
This BCAT2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 309-336 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human BCAT2.

Antigen Region:
309-336

Antigen Type: Synthetic Peptide

Gene Name: BCAT2
Gene ID: 587
Primary Accession: O15382
NCBI Accession: NP_001158245.1;NP_001181.2
Other Accession: NP_001158245.1;NP_001181.2
Format: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS.
