Protein Family: Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Nervous and Sensory Systems, Signal Transduction
Alternate Names: Beta-1 adrenergic receptor; Beta-1 adrenoreceptor; Beta-1 adrenoceptor; ADRB1; ADRB1R; B1AR
Accession No.: P08588
Description:
The beta-1 adrenergic receptor (ADRB1) mediates the catecholamine-induced activation of adenylate cyclase through the action of G proteins. The receptor binds epinephrine and norepinephrine with similar affinities. Homologous desensitization of the receptor is mediated by its phosphorylation by beta-adrenergic receptor kinase.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 ml peptide in deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 3256.4 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 250919 is selected from a sequence within the center region of human ADRB1. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C138H201N45O42S3
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
