Protein Family: Cell Adhesion Molecules, Cellular Antigens, CAM Ligands
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Growth and Death, Cell Motility, Immune System, Infectious Diseases
Alternate Names: Integrin beta-1; Integrin β1; Integrin-β1; Fibronectin receptor subunit beta; Integrin VLA-4 subunit beta; CD29; ITGB1; FNRB
Accession No.: P05556
Description:
Beta-1 Integrin is a receptor for collagen, where it binds the proline-hydroxylated sequence G-F-P-G-E-R. Beta-1 integrin associates with alpha-1, alpha-2, alpha-3, alpha-4, alpha-5, alpha-6, alpha-7, alpha-8, alpha-9, alpha-10, alpha-11 or alpha-V. In HIV-1 infection, the interaction of beta-1 integrin with extracellular viral Tat protein enhances angiogenesis in Kaposi's sarcoma lesions.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 ml peptide in deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 251162 is selected from a sequence within the N-term region of human Beta-1 integrin. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
