Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a zinc finger proteinpresent in the basal cell layer of the epidermis and in hairfollicles. It is also found in abundance in the germ cells oftestis and ovary. This protein is thought to play a regulatory rolein keratinocyte proliferation and it may also be a regulator forrRNA transcription. This gene seems to have multiple alternativelyspliced transcript variants, but their full-length nature is notknown yet. There seems to be evidence of multiple polyadenylationsites for this gene.
Other Names:
Zinc finger protein basonuclin-1, BNC1, BNC
Gene Name: BNC1
Gene ID: 646
Primary Accession: Q01954
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
