Protein Family: Enzymes, Receptors and Channels, Protein Kinases
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Development and Behavior, Cell Communication, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
C-erbB-2 (HER2) is a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor family of receptor tyrosine kinases. HER2 has no ligand binding domain on its own and therefore cannot bind growth factors. However, HER2 does bind tightly to other ligand-bound EGF receptor family members to form a heterodimer, stabilizing ligand binding and enhancing kinase-mediated activation of downstream signalling pathways, such as those involving mitogen-activated protein kinase and phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase.
Alternate Names: Receptor tyrosine protein kinase erbB2, p185erbB2, C-erbB-2, Neu proto-oncogene, Tyrosine kinase-type cell surface receptor HER2, MLN 19, ERBB2, HER2, NEU, NGL
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:200-1:500; IHC: 1:200-1:500
Accession No.: P04626
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human c-erbB2.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
