Description:
Calbindins are calcium-binding proteins belonging to the troponin C superfamily. Calbindin-D buffers cytosolic calcium. Calbindin-D stimulates a membrane Ca2+-ATPase and a 3',5'-cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase.
