Background:
Catalytic activity:Hydrolysis of proteins with broad specificity for peptide bonds. Preferentially cleaves -Arg-Arg-|-Xaa bonds in small molecule substrates (thus differing from cathepsin L). In addition to being an endopeptidase| shows peptidyl-dipeptidase activity| liberating C-terminal dipeptides.|Thiol protease which is believed to participate in intracellular degradation and turnover of proteins. Has also been implicated in tumor invasion and metastasis.|Belongs to the peptidase C1 family.|subcellular location:Identified by mass spectrometry in melanosome fractions from stage I to stage IV.|subunit:Dimer of a heavy chain and a light chain cross-linked by a disulfide bond.|
Research Area: Cancer, Neuroscience, Signal transduction
Synonyms: CATB , Cleaved-Leu80, Cathepsin B, EC 3.4.22.1, APP secretase, APPS, Cathepsin B1, Cathepsin B light chain, Cathepsin B heavy chain,
Immunogen: The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human AMPK alpha around the phosphorylation site of Thr172. AA range:140-189
Purification: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Formulation: Liquid in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide.
Concentration: 1 mg/ml
Storage:
-20°C for 1 year
