Datasheet
Background:
β-Catenin is a key downstream effector in the Wnt signaling pathway. It is implicated in two major biological processes in vertebrates: early embryonic development and tumorigenesis. CK1 phosphorylates β-catenin at Ser45. This phosphorylation event primes β-catenin for subsequent phosphorylation by GSK-3β. GSK-3β destabilizes β-catenin by phosphorylating it at Ser33, Ser37, and Thr41. Mutations at these sites result in the stabilization of β-catenin protein levels and have been found in many tumor cell lines.

Alternative Name:
Catenin β, Cateninβ, Catenin beta-1, Beta-catenin, CTNNB1, CTNNB, ORF Names: OK/SW-cl.35, PRO2286

Application Dilution: IHC: 1:50~1:200

Specificity: p-beta-catenin (S33/S37/T41) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of beta-catenin protein only when phosphorylated at Ser33/S37/T41.

Immunogen:
A phospho specific peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Serine 33 and 37 and threonine 41of human Catenin-β.

MW: ~ 92 kDa

Swis Prot.: P35222

Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Format:
1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2.

Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
