Background:
β-Catenin is a key downstream effector in the Wnt signaling pathway. It is implicated in two major biological processes in vertebrates: early embryonic development and tumorigenesis. CK1 phosphorylates β-catenin at Ser45. This phosphorylation event primes β-catenin for subsequent phosphorylation by GSK-3β. GSK-3β destabilizes β-catenin by phosphorylating it at Ser33, Ser37, and Thr41. Mutations at these sites result in the stabilization of β-catenin protein levels and have been found in many tumor cell lines.
Alternative Name:
Catenin beta-1, Beta-catenin, CTNNB1, CTNNB, OK/SW-cl.35, PRO2286
Application Dilution: WB: 1:500~1:1000
Specificity: Catenin-β (phospho-Y670) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Catenin-β protein only when phosphorylated at Tyr670.
Immunogen:
Synthetic phosphopeptide derived from human CTNNB1 around the phosphorylation site of Tyrosine 670.
MW: ~ 85 kDa
Swis Prot.: P35222
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.3.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
