AC-BP13718c
Background:
At the nuclear envelope, the nuclear lamina andheterochromatin are adjacent to the inner nuclear membrane. Theprotein encoded by this gene binds DNA and is a component ofheterochromatin. This protein also can bind lamin B receptor, anintegral membrane protein found in the inner nuclear membrane. Thedual binding functions of the encoded protein may explain theassociation of heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane. Twotranscript variants encoding the same protein but differing in the5' UTR, have been found for this gene.
Other Names:
Chromobox protein homolog 3, HECH, Heterochromatin protein 1 homolog gamma, HP1 gamma, Modifier 2 protein, CBX3
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13718c was selected from the Center region of CBX3. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: CBX3
Gene ID: 11335
Primary Accession: Q13185
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
