Background:
This gene is one of several Cys-Cys (CC) cytokine genesclustered on the q arm of chromosome 16. Cytokines are a family ofsecreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatoryprocesses. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by twoadjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displayschemotactic activity for T lymphocytes, but not monocytes orgranulocytes. The product of this gene binds to chemokine receptorsCCR4 and CCR8. This chemokine plays important roles in T celldevelopment in thymus as well as in trafficking and activation ofmature T cells.
Other Names:
C-C motif chemokine 17, CC chemokine TARC, Small-inducible cytokine A17, Thymus and activation-regulated chemokine, CCL17, SCYA17, TARC
Gene Name: CCL17
Gene ID: 6361
Primary Accession: Q92583
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
