Background:
Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine displays chemotactic activity for normal peripheral blood eosinophils and basophils. CCL26 is one of three related chemokines that specifically activate chemokine receptor CCR3. This chemokine may contribute to the eosinophil accumulation in atopic diseases.
Other Names:
C-C motif chemokine 26, CC chemokine IMAC, Eotaxin-3, Macrophage inflammatory protein 4-alpha, MIP-4-alpha, Small-inducible cytokine A26, Thymic stroma chemokine-1, TSC-1, CCL26, SCYA26
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8972c was selected from the Center region of human CCL26. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: CCL26 (HGNC:10625)
Gene ID: 10344
Primary Accession: Q9Y258
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
