Protein Family: Cell Adhesion Molecules, CAM Ligands, Cellular Antigens
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Immune System, Cell Motility, Infectious Diseases
Description:
CD18 Integrin beta-2 is a receptor for ICAM1, ICAM2, ICAM3 and ICAM4. CD18 Integrin beta-2 is a receptor for the iC3b fragment of the third complement component and for fibrinogen. CD18 Integrin beta-2 recognizes the sequence G-P-R in fibrinogen alpha-chain, binds P1 and P2 peptides of fibrinogen gamma chain, and is also a receptor for factor X. Defects in CD18 Integrin beta-2 are the cause of leukocyte adhesion deficiency type 1 (LAD1). LAD1 patients have recurrent bacterial infections and their leukocytes are deficient in a wide range of adhesion-dependent functions.
Alternate Names: Integrin beta-2, Cell surface adhesion glycoproteins LFA-1/CR3/p150, 95 subunit beta, Complement receptor C3 subunit beta, CD18, ITGB2, MFI7, Integrin β2, Integrin-β2
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P05107
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human Integrin beta-2.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 0.1 mg/ml BSA, 25% glycerol with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
