Background:
CDC2L1 is a member of the p34Cdc2 protein kinase family. p34Cdc2 kinase family members are known to be essential for eukaryotic cell cycle control. The gene is in close proximity to CDC2L2, a nearly identical gene in the same chromosomal region. The gene loci including this gene, CDC2L2, as well as metalloprotease MMP21/22, consist of two identical, tandemly linked genomic regions which are thought to be a part of the larger region that has been duplicated. The genes for CDC2L1 and CDC2L2 were shown to be deleted or altered frequently in neuroblastoma with amplified MYCN genes. The protein is cleavable by caspases and hs been demonstrated to play roles in cell apoptosis.

Other Names:
Cyclin-dependent kinase 11B, Cell division cycle 2-like protein kinase 1, CLK-1, Cell division protein kinase 11B, Galactosyltransferase-associated protein kinase p58/GTA, PITSLRE serine/threonine-protein kinase CDC2L1, p58 CLK-1, CDK11B, CDC2L1, CDK11, PITSLREA, PK58

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP7513a was selected from the N-term region of human CDC2L1 . A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: CDK11B

Gene ID: 984
Primary Accession: P21127
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
