Background:
Centrosomal protein 170kDa, also known as CEP170, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CEP170 geneThe product of this gene is a component of the centrosome, a non-membraneous organelle that functions as the major microtubule-organizing center in animal cells. During interphase, the encoded protein localizes to the sub-distal appendages of mature centrioles, which are microtubule-based structures thought to help organize centrosomes. During mitosis, the protein associates with spindle microtubules near the centrosomes. The protein interacts with the intraflagellar transport protein 81 (IFT81), the SH3-domain containing protein PRAX-1, and is phosphorylated by cyclin dependent kinase 1 (Cdk1) and polo-like kinase 1 (PLK1), and functions in maintaining Microtubule organization, cell morphology and cilium stability.
Alternative Name:
Centrosomal protein of 170 kDa, Cep170, KARP-1-binding protein, KARP1-binding protein, CEP170, FAM68A, KAB, KIAA0470
Application Dilution: WB: 1:500~1:1000
Specificity: CEP170 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of CEP170 protein.
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide, corresponding Human CEP170.
MW: ~ 175 kDa
Swis Prot.: Q5SW79
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.3.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
