Pathway and Disease: Transcription, Translation

Alternate Names: Coilin; p80; Coil; CLN80

Accession No.: P38432, NP_004636

Description:
Coilin is found in the nuclear coiled bodies (CBS) or Cajal bodies, which are involved in snRNP and snoRNP biogenesis and posttranscriptional modification of newly assembled spliceosomal snRNAs. CBS are located in the interchromatin space between the nucleolus and the nucleus.

Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 mg of lyophilized peptide. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.

MW: 2063.2 g/mol

Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200178 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human coilin. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.

Composition:
C86H135N25O32S1

Purity:
> 80% by HPLC

Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.

Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
