Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Complement C5 (C5) detection. Tested with WB in rat.
Protein Name: Complement C5
Background:
Derived from proteolytic degradation of complement C5, C5 anaphylatoxin is a mediator of local inflammatory process. Binding to the receptor C5AR1 induces a variety of responses including intracellular calcium release, contraction of smooth muscle, increased vascular permeability, and histamine release from mast cells and basophilic leukocytes. C5a is also a potent chemokine which stimulates the locomotion of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and directs their migration toward sites of inflammation. .
Other Names:
Complement C5, C5a anaphylatoxin, C5
Subcellular Localization: Secreted.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of rat C5a(59-77aa TIADKIRKESHHKGMLLGR), different from the related mouse sequence by five amino acids.
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Format: Lyophilized
Contents: Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.05 mg NaN3.
Concentration (mg/ml): Add 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 µg/ml.
Storage: At -20˚C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4˚C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20˚C for a longer time. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
