Background:
Corticotropin-releasing hormone is a potent stimulator ofsynthesis and secretion of preopiomelanocortin-derived peptides.Although CRH concentrations in the human peripheral circulation arenormally low, they increase throughout pregnancy and fall rapidlyafter parturition. Maternal plasma CRH probably originates from theplacenta. Human plasma contains a CRH-binding protein whichinactivates CRH and which may prevent inappropriatepituitary-adrenal stimulation in pregnancy.
Other Names:
Corticotropin-releasing factor-binding protein, CRF-BP, CRF-binding protein, Corticotropin-releasing hormone-binding protein, CRH-BP, CRHBP, CRFBP
Gene Name: CRHBP
Gene ID: 1393
Primary Accession: P24387
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
