Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for von Willebrand factor (VWF) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in mouse, rat.
Protein Name: von Willebrand factor
Background:
Important in the maintenance of hemostasis, it promotes adhesion of platelets to the sites of vascular injury by forming a molecular bridge between sub-endothelial collagen matrix and platelet-surface receptor complex GPIb-IX-V. Also acts as a chaperone for coagulation factor VIII, delivering it to the site of injury, stabilizing its heterodimeric structure and protecting it from premature clearance from plasma. .
Other Names:
von Willebrand factor, vWF, von Willebrand antigen 2, von Willebrand antigen II, Vwf {ECO:0000312|MGI:MGI:98941}
Subcellular Localization: Secreted . Secreted, extracellular space, extracellular matrix . Localized to storage granules. .
Tissue Specificity: Plasma. Expressed in liver. .
Gene ID: 22371
Immunogen: E.coli-derived mouse VWF recombinant protein (Position: M1304-E1452).
Calculated MW: 309269
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Format: Lyophilized
Contents: Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05 mg NaN3.
Concentration (mg/ml): Add 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 µg/ml.
Storage: At -20˚C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4˚C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20˚C for a longer time. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
