Background:
CYP4F2 encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum. The enzyme starts the process of inactivating and degrading leukotriene B4, a potent mediator of inflammation. This protein is part of a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 19. Another member of this family, CYP4F11, is approximately 16 kb away.

Other Names:
Phylloquinone omega-hydroxylase CYP4F2, 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid synthase, 20-HETE synthase, 11413-, Arachidonic acid omega-hydroxylase, CYPIVF2, Cytochrome P450 4F2, Cytochrome P450-LTB-omega, Leukotriene-B(4) 20-monooxygenase 1, Leukotriene-B(4) omega-hydroxylase 1, CYP4F2 (HGNC:2645)

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP9059a was selected from the N-term region of human CYP4F2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: CYP4F2 {ECO:0000303|PubMed:10492403, ECO:0000312|HGNC:HGNC:2645}

Gene ID: 8529
Primary Accession: P78329
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
