Background:
Cytokeratin 18, also known as keratin 18 (K18), is a type I cytokeratin. The K18 gene is 3791 bp in length and the K18 protein is coded for by seven exons.1Keratin 18 is often used together with keratin 8 and keratin 19 to differentiate cells of epithelial origin from hematopoietic cells in tests that enumerate circulating tumor cells in blood.2Keratin 8 and 18 (K8/18) are the major components of intermediate filament (IF) proteins of simple or single-layered epithelia.3
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide (conjugated with KLH) corresponding to the C-terminal of mouse CK18.
Recommended Application:
Western Blot, WB(1:5, 000); Immunohistochemistry, IHC-P (1:100); Immunocytochemistry, ICC (1:50)
Product Form: Liquid
Purification: Protein A purified
Storage Buffer: 1*PBS (pH7.4), 0.2% BSA, 40% Glycerol and 0.05% Sodium Azide.
Storage Instruction:
Store at 4℃ after thawing (1 week). Aliquot and store at -20℃ for long term (at least one year). Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
