Quantity: 25 µl

Background:
This gene encodes the type I keratin 9, an intermediate filament chain expressed only in the terminally differentiated epidermis of palms and soles. Mutations in this gene cause epidermolytic palmoplantar keratoderma.

Synonyms:
KRT9, K9, CK-9, EPPK

Isotype: Guinea pig Polyclonal (GPHK9-TY1)

Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide of human cytokeratin/Keratin 9 (K9) (aa 450-477), conjugated to KLH

Form: Stabilized Serum

Specificity:
Acidic human keratin K9 (MW 62,129; formerly also designated cytokeratin 9), expressed in the palmoplantar epidermis. K9 can be detected in primary cultures of palmoplantar keratinocytes when they shift to differentiation-promoting conditions and grow stratified (upper cells). K9 has not been found in normal, i.e. non-pathogenic, non-ridged epidermis, beside some minor cells surrounding the acrosyringeal ducts. No labelling has been found in epithelial cells of other stratified epithelia such as oesophagus or complex epithelia (e.g. urothelium) or in ductal or simple epithelia. Negative tissues include: muscle, liver and duodenum. (see references listed below).

Reactivity: human, bovine, mouse, rat

Applications: Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections, Immunoblotting

Working DIlution: 1:100 - 1:200 for immunohistochemistry; 1:50 paraffin sections; 1:5,000 – 1:10,000 for immunoblotting (ECL method)

Storage: 2-8C
