Quantity: 25 µl
Background:
Cytokeratins/Keratins are precisely regulated in tissue and little is known about the molecular mechanisms underlying this regulation. However, the expression pattern of cytokeratin 6 is known to be particularly complex. It is found in hair follicles, suprabasal cells of a variety of internal stratified epithelia, in epidermis, in both normal and hyperproliferative situations.
Synonyms:
K6, Krt2-6, Krt-2.6
Isotype: Guinea pig Polyclonal (GPK6/2.1)
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide of human keratin K6 (formerly alsodesignated cytokeratin 6; MAS TST TIR SHS S-C), coupled toKLH
Form: Stabilized Serum
Specificity:
MW 56,000 (pI 7.8) intermediate filament polypeptide, keratin K6, detected by immunohistochemistry in non-keratinized squamous epithelia and proliferating cells of epidermis (e.g. within psoriatic lesions). The antibody is completely negative on non-stratified epithelia. Suitable for discrimination of keratinizing and non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma versus e.g. poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma.
Reactivity: human, mouse
Applications: Suitable for immunofluorescence microscopy on frozen sections, immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections (after microwave treatment)
Working DIlution: 1: 100-1:200 for immunohistochemistry
Positive Control:
Human psoriatic skin; rete ridges of foot sole
Storage: 2-8C
