Background:
DAD1, the defender against apoptotic cell death, wasinitially identified as a negative regulator of programmed celldeath in the temperature sensitive tsBN7 cell line. The DAD1protein disappeared in temperature-sensitive cells following ashift to the nonpermissive temperature, suggesting that loss of theDAD1 protein triggered apoptosis. DAD1 is believed to be a tightlyassociated subunit of oligosaccharyltransferase both in the intactmembrane and in the purified enzyme, thus reflecting the essentialnature of N-linked glycosylation in eukaryotes. [provided byRefSeq].
Other Names:
Dolichyl-diphosphooligosaccharide--protein glycosyltransferase subunit DAD1, Oligosaccharyl transferase subunit DAD1, Defender against cell death 1, DAD-1, DAD1
Gene Name: DAD1 (HGNC:2664)
Gene ID: 1603
Primary Accession: P61803
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
