Protein Family: Enzymes

Pathway and Disease: Amino Acid Metabolism

Description:
Dopamine beta hydroxylase (DBH) catalyzes the conversion of dopamine to noradrenaline. Defects in DBH are the cause of dopamine beta-hydroxylase deficiency (DBH deficiency), also known as norepinephrine deficiency or noradrenaline deficiency. This disorder is characterized by profound deficits in autonomic and cardiovascular function, but apparently only subtle signs, if any, of central nervous system dysfunction.

Alternate Names: DBH, Dopamine β-hydroxylase, Dopamine beta-hydroxylase, Dopamine beta-monooxygenase, Soluble dopamine beta-hydroxylase

Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:1,000

Accession No.: P09172

Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human dopamine b-hydroxylase.
