Background:
DDX3 is a DEAD box protein which interacts specifically with hepatitis C virus core protein resulting a change in intracellular location. DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. DDX3 is a DEAD box protein which interacts specifically with hepatitis C virus core protein resulting a change in intracellular location.

Other Names:
ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX3X, DEAD box protein 3, X-chromosomal, DEAD box, X isoform, Helicase-like protein 2, HLP2, DDX3X, DBX, DDX3

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP1483a was selected from the N-term region of human DDX3. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: DDX3X

Gene ID: 1654
Primary Accession: O00571
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
