Digoxigenin (DIG) is a steroid found exclusively in the flowers and leaves of the plants Digitalis purpurea, Digitalis orientalis and Digitalis lanata (foxgloves). DIG is immunogenic in nature and for this reason is used as a marker in immunohistochemical applications.
