Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to albumin and albuminDNP as tested in immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion. A characteristic single precipitin line is obtained with normal serum which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line with purified albumin. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony and Mancini) and electroimmunodiffusion (Laurell) to identify the presence of albumin or albuminDNP in monkey serum or other body fluids and to determine its concentration. This antiserum is not intended for use in non-precipitating antibody-binding or other highly sensitive assays, but this does not exclude such use if proper controls are included.
Isotype: Rabbit Polyclonal
Source: Purified albumin isolated from pooled monkey serum, coupled to dinitrophenol. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure
Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated, in PBS and 0.1% sodium azide.
Reactivity: Monkey
Cross Reactivity:
Inter-species cross reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to Serum proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Crossreactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail, however a reaction has been observed with Human albumin, Chicken ovalbuminDNP, but not with native Chicken ovalbumin.
Applications: Immunoprecipitation
Storage: Store at 4C, or in small aliquots at -20C.
