Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Cell Growth and Death, Cancers, Transcription
Description:
E2F-1 (Transcription factor E2F1) is a transcription activator that binds DNA cooperatively with DP proteins through the E2 recognition site, 5'-TTTC[CG]CGC-3' found in the promoter region of a number of genes whose products are involved in cell cycle regulation or in DNA replication. The DRTF1/E2F complex functions in the control of cell-cycle progression from G1 to S phase. E2F-1 binds preferentially to RB1 protein in a cell-cycle dependent manner. E2F-1 can mediate both cell proliferation and p53-dependent apoptosis.
Alternate Names: Transcription factor E2F1, E2F-1, Retinoblastoma-binding protein 3, RBBP-3, PRB-binding protein E2F-1, PBR3, Retinoblastoma-associated protein 1, RBAP-1, E2F1, RBBP3
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: Q01094
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term of human E2F-1.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
