Source:
Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant Rat EGF (Rat Epidermal Growth Factor). Anti-Rat EGF specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing immobilized Rat EGF matrix.

Western Blot:
To detect Rat EGF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.5 - 1.0 μg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant Rat EGF is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat EGF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μl/welll antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with BioGems Biotinylated Anti-Rat EGF (62-053BT) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat EGF.

Immunohistochemistry:
This antibody stained colchicine injected rat brain (mammillary nuclei) tissue. The primary antibody was incubated at 1.0 μg/ml overnight at 4˚C. This was followed by a peroxidase conjugated secondary antibody and then a fluorescein Tyramide Signal Amplification (TSA™) reagent. Optimal concentrations and conditions may vary.

Neutralization:
To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of Rat EGF (0.1 ng/ml), a concentration of < 0.1 μg/ml of this antibody is required.

Formulation: A sterile filtered antibody solution was lyophilized from PBS, pH 7.2.

Reconstitution: Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml.
