Protein Family: Enzymes, Protein Kinases, Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Communication, Cell Motility, Endocrine System, Infectious Diseases, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a receptor for EGF and for various members of the EGF family such as TGF-alpha, amphiregulin, betacellulin, heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor, GP30 and vaccinia virus growth factor. EGFR is involved in the control of cell growth and differentation. Binding of EGF to the receptor leads to dimerization, internalization of the EGF-receptor complex, induction of the tyrosine kinase activity, stimulation of cell DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. Defects in EGFR are associated with lung cancer.
Alternate Names: Epidermal growth factor receptor, receptor tyrosine-protein kinase ErbB-1, EGFR, ERBB1
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:200-1:500
Accession No.: P00533
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human EGFR.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
