It has also been found tofunction as a cofactor of hepatitis C virus internal ribosome entrysite-mediated translation. Mutations in this gene have beenassociated with leukodystrophy with vanishing white matter.Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding differentisoforms have been found for this gene.
