Protein Family: Hormones
Pathway and Disease: Nervous and Sensory Systems, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: Endomorphin-2; EM2
Accession No.: CAS 141801-26-5
Description:
Endomorphin-2 (EM-2) is an endogenous opioid peptide and one of the two endomorphins (EM-1 and EM-2). Endomorphin-2 is a potent agonist for mu-opioid receptors. EM-2 is a potent analgesic having high affinity (Ki = 690 pM) and selectivity for mu-opioid receptors. EM-2 produces analgesia in animals as equipotent as morphine.
Format:
Each vial contains 5 mg of lyophilized solid packaged under an inert gas and supplied as a trifluoroacetate salt.
MW: 571.68 g/mol
Sequence:
H-Tyr-Pro-Phe-Phe-NH2 or H-YPFF-NH2
Composition:
C32H37N5O5
Purity:
> 95% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C.
