Protein Family: Enzymes
Pathway and Disease: Amino Acid Metabolism, Carbohydrate Metabolism, Lipid Metabolism, Neurodegenerative Disorders
Description:
Endoplasmic reticulum-associated beta-amyloid peptide binding protein (ERAB) is an intracellular polypeptide that binds to beta-amyloid-beta, a neurotoxic peptide that has been implicated in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. ERAB is a hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase enzyme expressed in normal tissues, but overexpressed in neurons affected in Alzheimer's disease. Overexpression of ERAB in cultured cells enhances the neurotoxic effects of beta-amyloid. Defects in ERAB are the cause of neurological abnormalities including mental and psychomotor retardation.
Alternate Names: 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase type-2, 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase type II, Type II HADH, 3-hydroxy-2-methylbutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase, Endoplasmic reticulum-associated amyloid beta-peptide-binding protein, Short-chain type dehydrogenase/reductase XH98G2, HSD17B10, ERAB, HADH2, SCHAD, XH98G2
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:200-1:500; IHC: 1:200-1:500
Accession No.: Q99714
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human ERAB.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
