Reference E. coli strain: HM 1706 was grown in Minca Agar in Roux flasks. Cells were harvested in phosphate buffer and the fimbrae were detached from the bacteria by heat shock. The fimbrae were further purified by centrifugation followed by ammonium sulfate precipitation. The minimal antigen titer was determined by indirect ELISA using monoclonal antibody specific for F41 (1M18).
